Ladies night out challenge Completed!

At our Last Ladies Night Out, we were challenged to complete a page using a "page map" that we were given.  Got mine completed today and I must say--I  REALLY Like it!!!!   I have tons of page map magazines and books including the newest Page Maps 2---so I figure I might just start using them  for some of my layouts.

It's DONE!

The Haunted House is DONE!--well, basically--I keep tweaking here and there--little things--details!  I added lights to this one and I love the effect.  They are LEDs and are very bright, adding a great glow all around.  My fingers are practically glued together--but it's done.  Here's a few pics.  Enjoy!  and hopefully it will be on display at the store for awhile--if I can get it there safely.

Got my Halloween Cricut Board done at Memory Bound today--all centered around their newest Halloween cartridge "Happy Hauntings".   It puts me in the "spirit" of things to come in the next month.  Also did a little more "gluing" on my haunted house--will go at it on Wednesday and try to get it done.  Was a beautiful warm day today, a good day to re-open the windows or just be outside enjoying the warm, fresh air! and my little Aiden was here to play--in the mudpuddles, of course!

A Haunted Creation in Progress!

Today was a Rainy, cold day that reminded me a lot of Halloween weather.    It put me in the mood to work on this years Halloween Cricut things, including the newest Cricut Haunted House from Happy Hauntings.  It's a work in  progress--the House having been put together after many hours of cutting and gluing, but the Embellishing yet to be done.  I have a lot of ideas and a big house to work with.  Ghosts, bats, spiders, a "pumpkin patch", spider webbing.  This house is big by Cricut standards and has lots of room for critters and creatures to "move in" and take up residency.  Now I am anxious to get started and truly put the "haunted" in my big black house!----more to come on it's progress!

What in the WORLD was I Thinking????

What was I thinking???   We went to the Clay Co. Fair in Spencer today--our Absolutely most favorite fair--EVER!  I took my camera, all the time thinking, I'm going to get some "unusal" pictures--you know, of animals, people, things!   Well, I had my camera out often, carried it in the palm of my little hand----BUT----did I get any pictures???   Well, I remembered to take 2---yes that's TWO!!!  and one was of a 4-H sign.  The other was the one above--and it's nothing to write home about.  WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!  I think it was about shopping--cuz they have tons of craft booths!

Just one of those Days!

Okay, so today I was on Low Census---well sort of----.  I had every intentions of getting into the baby blanket making thing today--both for the little guy and for a couple of other's having baby's.  I was all in the mood when I was called and told I had to replace one of the girls going home at 11am.  Okay, so right in the middle of the day, I had to leave--not very inspiring as far as getting head over heels into a project.  Well, I went to work and found out they really DIDN'T need me----so back home I came after a couple of really short errands.  Of course, by then I was all out of the mood to do Blankets.   I did manage to get 3 of them laid out and the edges pinned down for sewing.  Then, my energy dissapeared and I gave up!  Oh, well, there is time yet and lots of days off comin up--IF---everyone leaves me alone for a couple of them.  Have no fear, I work best under stress---and dead lines---they will get done and the babies will be warm!

A Blast From the Past!

Last week, My brother and "sister" in law visited us from Wichita, Ks. and we made a trip to the 'Old Threasher's  Reunion' in Mt. Pleasant.   It was truely a trip back into the past.  We saw snow mobiles from the 1950 and 60's (I sure don't recall them back then), A school bus for the 40's??, and rode a Carousel from the steam engine days (before my time).   It was a fun, let's be a kid again, kind of day and spending it with two of our favorite relatives didn't hurt any either.  You know, everyone should make it their mission to enjoy more of these "occasions" with people we love.  Life is too short not too!!!

Caramel apples, Scrapbook style

Caramel apples are so "in season" right now .  and with all the fall pics don't forget to take a few pics of the kiddos eating them.  To make a really cool  c. apple for your page, cut out a real size apple--one in red or green and one in "caramel" brown.  Glue a popcycle stick between the layers (be sure to trim a little caramel back so the apple peeks out).  then cover the "caramel with a thin coat of glossy accents or any other clear cover {modge podge might work).   Add real nuts or small pebbles while wet and you have a very real "caramel apple"!    (Nicholas was very impressed with Grandma's embellishment for this page)

Printer Tray Frenzie!

As seen on our Ladies night out blog, the Printer trays I made were so much fun to make, I had to post them here, too.  Finding all those little trinkets you forgot you had is half the fun.  The sky's the limit on occasions to make them for--gifts, home deco, holiday---well you get the picture.  Enjoy the creativity!
